Apple Turnovers

Apple turnovers are made with puff pastry. It’s like a little pouch of dough filled with apples, raisins and cinnamon.

Today I give you the recipe for apple turnovers! Delicious, quick and easy to make, success guaranteed!

Ingredients

  • 8-10 sheets of puff pastry, 12x12cm
  • 100 gr raisins
  • 100 ml rum or water
  • 3 cooking apples
  • 70 gr sugar
  • 2 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • zest of 1 lemon
 

Preheat the oven to 190 ºC. Soak the raisins in water or rum. Peel and core the apples and cut them into pieces. Mix the sugar and cinnamon and add half of it to the apples. Set the remaining sugar aside.

Drain the raisins and mix them with the apples, zest and cornstarch. The starch wil absorb the excess fluid.

Brush 2 edges of a puff pastry square and add a tablespoon of filling. Close the pastry and use a fork to close the edges.

Brush 1 side of the turnovers with water or eggwhite and dip it in the cinnamon sugar.  Put the apple turnovers on a baking sheet and bake them for 20 minutes. Let cool completely and enjoy.
